March at The June

Hello all! It’s already March! March is a sign that the cold, blustery Texas winter is soon making way for spring, and is a perfect metaphor for what is happening here at The June! As we continue to move forward with a strong, stable leadership team, and a dedicated, caring, and devoted staff, we are reminded of the storms through which we have passed, and of the promising landscape into which we have emerged. Starting this month, you will see the beginning of renovations and beautification projects, new and exciting resident care enhancements, and exciting and fun events and activities designed to increase the quality and enjoyment of everyday life here at The June. As always, I am excited to experience these with you and remain grateful for all your support and encouragement in this community’s growth and purpose. I am thankful for you all!

St. Patrick’s Day Family Night

5:00pm – 7:00pm on Thursday, March 12th

A good friend is like a four-leaf clover, hard to find and lucky to have! With the luck of the Irish, we have the greatest friends at The June and we want to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the best. You are invited for green beer, food, and lots of good cheer. You don’t want to miss it! Make sure to wear green so you don’t get pinched by a Leprechaun! For more information, call (210) 681-8638.

It’s hard to imagine a color other than green dominating St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, but for centuries blue was associated with Ireland. One reason for the color switch was the Irish Rebellion of 1798, an uprising against British rule in which Irish soldiers wore green uniforms. As made famous by the lyrics of the ballad “The Wearing of the Green,” people began displaying the color as an expression of national pride.
